The only pub in this neighborhood that doesn't feature old uncles with tattered shirts/shorts, Elephant Rock serves not just beer but decent food as well. We decided to come here for dinner on a Sunday night. Either business is dying or we were there too early as we were the only other customer around.
I ordered the Mexican (if not mistaken) marinated chicken with rice. The marinade tasted not bad. Sadly, the chicken felt like it wasn't cooked enough as the meat is still reddish near the joints. It also came with half a hard boiled salted egg. An interesting combo of sorts that I wouldn't entirely reject, partly due to my love for salted egg.
Clams cooked in garlic and lemon soup with croissant. This took ages to arrive and luckily, it was quite worth the wait. At least the hot and (hopefully) freshly baked croissant tasted so. It wasn't crunchy like the bakery version but it was warm and peels off easily to dip into the soup which was a waste as it was already great on its own.
The clams itself were fresh and at around RM 22/pot, you get a substantial amount to call a meal. I did find that the garlic was a little overpowering overall.
