Shilin

I recall fondly when they first opened up in AEON Bukit Tinggi more than 10years ago. Super excited to try it out because nobody else did fried chicken or mee suah like them. Somehow, their chicken was a bit too dry and spicy, not in a good way. Fortunately, their noodles fared better.

While the name may ring a bell,  the dish doesn't quite originate from there specifically. Either way, who's complaining when you got smooth noodles and juicy oyster with spicy sauce?

When they first introduced it in Malaysia, they tried to cut cost get us to do it as the (Taiwanese) locals do it i.e. eat it using a spoon and only a spoon. No chopstick. That obviously didn't go too well and they have chopsticks now should that be your thing.

If there's one thing I admire about them, it'll be their QC. The quality remains the same at pretty much most of the outlet (Atria , The Curve and My Town that I have been to). Over the years, sensing that they need to keep up, they updated their menu and provided more items. This is the winter melon tea in a very handy bag that could not only stand but comes with holes for you to carry and it's resealable. A bit too sweet though.
