Geostorm
A world where the weather can be controlled, can I request for Malaysia to be not so humid? Gerard Butler plays the hero in another disaster movie from the same producer of Independence Day. Like before, the world is going to die and of course some Americans will save the day. However, unlike before, they acknowledge that the rest of the world exists. For once, it's not the US of A that gets hit first. It's Afghanistan.
Jim Sturgess gets to play the baby brother who overthrew big brother out of his own project. I think he's kinda cute but doesn't really have much of an onscreen persona. Either that or Butler is just too commanding. While the plot is almost predictable with a feel good ending, there's enough action to keep you at the edge of your seat. Best watched in the cinema for the full effect.
