Kenny Rogers, The Curve

Do you know that I have a stake in Kenny Rogers' Roasters in Malaysia? Or the parent company that owns it, to be specific. Actually, as long as you have even 1 tiny stock in the company, you are technically an owner. But don't quote me on that. You're taking stock market advise from someone who lost few grand in few O&G stock 😫

If not because Maxis was having an offer as part of their Maxis club, I wouldn't bother coming here. Is it just me or that almost (if not every) KRR restaurant service sucks has lots of room for improvement? They are slow to seat you, slow to take your order and sometimes you need to spell it out for them, slow to serve, heck even slow to take your money. Like without fail, one of that happens whenever I dine in any of those and I've been to the one in Paradigm Mall, Subang Parade (now closed) and this. Makes me wonder if KRR has a management school that subconsciously teach their staff to be slow on everything.

I ordered their latest Korean fried chicken as it was a buy 2 free 1 promo. That means 6 pieces of chicken for 2 of us. Not to mention each set comes with 2 sides of either garlic rice or potato crisps. The chicken comes in either spicy chili or sweet garlic. The former isn't so spicy, more sweet really. while the latter has a tinge of garlic, not overpowering. The chicken was deep fried until crispy and coated generously with the sauce. Worth the almost half hour wait? Well..... 😒

For all you non-Maxis subscribers, fret not. You can always order their usual roast chicken with sides. The sad thing about KRR is their food is actually not bad, decent even. The chicken is usually juicy and marinated well. It comes out quite tender, though few times it wasn't hot enough. Make it a complete meal with their sides that depending on your selection, it may (or may not) be a healthy meal in the end. Their mac&cheese has potential if they bother to serve it hot. If you want to play it safe, their coleslaw and potato have not failed me yet.
