Am I turning into one of those chasing after the latest (food) fad? No, but I was thinking of trying this place out since like the SS2 branch, it is also packed to the corridor with people even at 6.30pm.
Sizzling sisig RM 12: ground pork, sauteed with onions, garlic & chili padi, served in sizling hot plate with egg, calamansi and white rice
A Filipino dish originally made of not-so-common part of the pig, I do hope that this one didn't come from the head. The plate certainly did bring the dish to greater heights, turning the meat crispy. Very nice except that it's rather dry to go with rice. The egg helped a bit not not enough.
Pork leg stew RM 14: braised pork leg in homemade stew, served in claypot with potatoes, broccoli, mushroom and rice
Expecting this to be a homely, comforting dish was dead wrong. Not that it wasn't homely, the comfort factor wasn't there. I think I was expecting a more traditional Chinese stew than one that had Filipino touches. The bell peppers did give the stew some of its flavors. There was more bone than meat. This had more gravy for the rice but other than that, it wasn't a great meal.
