During their initial opening phase, the line got so long that my (im)patience ran out at the sight of it. If you head over these days, there is no line, just maybe not the best seat (outdoor where there's no air conditioner and more noise). Being the only other Japanese restaurant, it's your only choice for decent, more authentic Japanese food.Kani ebikko temaki or crab and fish roe hand roll RM 4.53
I don't know why people like this as the seaweed tends to get a bit soggy, a wee bit too much of rice at the tip. Also, maybe it's just my teeth but the seaweed can get quite challenging to bite off. The ingredients are all fresh and nice, only the execution. Or my general dislike for handrolls.
Salmon maki. Fish roe, bonito flakes on the outside. Salmon and fried bits on the inside.
Unfortunately, they got less filling than my feelings would allow and that made me sad 😞 The only consolation was the fresh salmon.
Tsukimi or Mini udon with seaweed and egg RM 11.13
Simply and hearty, some may say it's bland overall.
As tempting as it was to call this black caviar, I probably wouldn't have been able to afford it.
Black fish roe gunkan sushi that tasted way fishier than the normal red ones, it left a lasting impression which doesn't quite work in its favor.
Mini oyako don or egg and chicken steamed rice with onion, topped with seaweed flakes. A rather simple dish but could do with a bit more of soy sauce.
