Review: Kim Gary, One Utama

One place that I frequent at least once a month is this franchise. It isn't because the food is super duper good. Or their service is excellent with a capital e. No, I don't own/co-own nor do I hold any share.
I just happened to have their member card which comes at an annual fee of RM10 and they give you this voucher booklet with freebies for each month of the year. It's a good marketing trick, really. Give people something free that costs relatively low in the first place and get them to come to your shop to order more stuff.

Actually, it isn't really free since you would have paid RM10 initially Just like the notion of free will.

Mango longan. I think :D It wasn't my order :P

Yin yong. HK's version of milk tea is unlike our local teh tarik that usually happens to be too sweet. The balance between the tea and sweetness is just right in this. Iced or hot, it goes down smooth but lately they have been diluting the drink so much that sometimes, it can turn to be yin yong flavored water.

Spicy Noodle with Beef Slice in "Typhoon Shelter". With the words spicy and typhoon, not sure how  I never saw how hot&fiery this could get. They used to carry a cheese baked rice with Szechuan pork. Szechuan cuisine is famous for being really spicy hot and that was no exception. The pork with mild cheese and white sauce was truly a comfort food. Unfortunately, they took that off the menu few years ago. Not sure why because I could eat that every single week.
Anyway, this noodle turned out to be really spicy too. But, it's one of those dishes that make you suffer but want more despite sweating buckets, dripping nose. It's an ugly mental image but be thankful that you weren't there with me when I was actually eating and enjoying it.

Accompanying deep fried seafood tofu. Nothing spectacular but this maybe to serve as a breather between all that heat.

Pork Fillet in Black Pepper Sauce with Rice. The red chilli is just for show. Peppery like those chicken chop you get from outside, it is surprisingly not too bad. It could have used more pork fillet though.
