Review: PJ SS2 Wai Sek Kai

There are quite a number of stalls here. Some do better than others. Some just don't.
This is a very rare sight. Only happens during the lunar new year.

This is sadly one of the casualty though it may be by choice and not circumstances. Similar to the one at PJ Old Town, the ice was shaved finely with proper Malacca sugar syrup. It's unfortunate that the stall is now run by someone else and it's barely half as good =(

My (former) favorite go-to Saturday lunch: vegetarian Chinese economy rice.
I like the sweet deep fried crullers and mock roast sweet pork. The vegetable curry also has a good coconut cream flavor. Of course, it isn't cheap. A plate of 3 dishes could easily cost RM 6.50. No carb diet can sometimes translate to no money diet too.

Something not so healthy: fried oyster omelet.
A little too greasy and the oysters were quite small. Quite a letdown.

Not quite at SS2 Wai Sek Kai but close enough at Sun Hin Loong which is within walking distance. It turned out to be very flavorful, thanks to hours of boiling. How do I know? Well, the veggie was very soft and meat was delightfully tender. Not very cheap at around RM 6.50 but quite worth it if you're lazy but want something closer to home cooking.
