Movies: Joy

A movie about achieving your dreams, obviously it ends in a happy manner. Jennifer Lawrence plays the title character who's been down and out in the rut after having a seemingly promising childhood. It teaches us not to give up on our dreams even if it's one setback after another. Perseverance is key.

But that doesn't count when your crush files for a restraining order after you've been stalking her one too often, ok?

Playing Lawrence sidekick is Bradley Cooper though he really doesn't enter the movie until much later. They do have a good on-screen chemistry going on but not quite enough to salvage the plot from the typical rags to riches story. It's one of those movies that you watch when you need that boost to (finally) have your own food truck or start up.
