Review: Wong Seng Kitchen, Taman Danau Desa
14, Jalan 1/109f,
Taman Danau Desa,
58100 Kuala Lumpur
Such a far off place. For someone from PJ, at least. So, what was I doing in this part of town? Simply because there isn't anyone else who has flexible lunch hours (read: longer than one hour) and I had the day to burn (read: clearing my annual leave).
Stir fry sweet potato leaves with garlic RM 7 - simple dishes are the best but also trickiest to master. Thankfully, if you don't have high standards such as yours truly, this is pretty nice.
Claypot pork belly with salted fish RM 16 - this has to be the lightest rendition of this dish. Not that it was bad. In fact, it was great with plain rice as it was rather salty. The gravy was not thick; more watery.
Signature deep fried fish with chopped garlic and bird's eye chilli RM 25 - similar to the one in Dengkil, this one was not as generous with the choice of fish but all else is pretty spot on. While it isn't too spicy, do bear in mind that I like spicy food so tread carefully.
