La Belle Saison, Kota Kemuning

In my lame ass attempt to introduce my folks to new food, I suggested this place after much Googling. Surprisingly, my dad agreed so we adjourned here for lunch.

Their mushroom soup is a decent rendition, complete with cream. If only there were more 😕

Salad which didn't come with the usual Thousand island. What you get is fresh greens (and some fruits) in a light dressing. Balsamic vinaigrette if my unrefined palette got it right. A good start.

Slices of bread that was so airy that it almost felt magical. So light like puffy clouds on a sunny day.

Seafood aglio olio.
Fresh seafood with pepper to leave a fiery impression but not till you break into a sweat.

Halibut pan seared and served on a creamy celeriac puree with mini onions, snow peas, leek confit & topped with homemade pesto.
This was a bit pricey at RM 50+ but when you look at the amount of effort and ingredients required, it almost did make it worthwhile. Definitely doesn't taste like the usual fish. The flavors are slightly muted but you can most definitely taste them all. If you're used to heavy spices then this might just confuse you abit.

Oven roasted chicken with sides.
The chicken was cooked just right, not dry on the inside. You get to pick the sauce and two sides. Quite interesting what you'd end up with.

Certainly not very French like, yet not your run-of-the-mill chicken chop. Compared to Kenny Roger's, this might be a bit bland but definitely healthier option.
