香港橋底雞煲餐廳, PJ SS2

In the same row, there happened to be 2 Hong Kong restaurant/cafe, this is not including Wong Kok. I wonder if Malaysia is such a good place for HK people or are Malaysians up for HK cuisine. Either way, that's good news for poor people like me who can't go to HK.

Having said that, I don't know if chicken hot pot is a HK specialty. It's basically chicken cooked in claypot with herbs, dried chili, onion and lots of cilantro. The idea is to somehow turn it into a hotpot/steamboat by adding soup towards the end. Of course, they milk it up by offering you sides to add into the pot to complete the experience. For 2 pax, the chicken alone is quite sufficient. Not to mention that the chicken pot alone was about RM 60. Not exactly cheap but an interesting experience.

Taste wise, it's like the usual claypot chicken. Cooked in a dry style with gravy, great with rice/plain noodles.

If you're not up for a whole pot of chicken, they do have some HK-style snacks. Of course, it's doesn't look that great but if you're not picking and just looking for a quite bite, this does the job fairly well. Wash it down with their HK tea and you're good to go.

Or try with sweet bun. Crispy on the outside, there's sugar and some condensed milk on top. The perfect tea time snack.
