When I first started working, Kim Gary became my weekly weekend paktor place. The place was happening, the food was great enjoyable and best of all, it's Western food with an Asian touch. Such was my culinary adventure. These days, Kim Gary has expanded beyond that one spot but occasionally, I still like to relive my adolescent years and come here instead. Not because their food/service is the best though. Merely because I'm in the mall with a hankering for char chan teng food. If anything, this branch is usually very crowded and conversations are hard to have inside.

Tried their Portuguese cheese baked rice set for once. Sweeter than the usual tomato sauce baked rice, it has that slight tangy taste to it as well. Quite a large portion, value for money as it came with a drink and soup as well at about RM 20. More rice than meat obviously but we Asians.

Peanut butter and jam toast.
Their French toast is not bad though one might be dumbfounded to know that it comes with peanut butter. To think that this toast will not be that far off is a grave mistake. To think that it may even come close to a Shibuya toast is just asking for the moon. Even as a slice of bread, its very existence should be cast into the far end of the darkness, where nobody (not even a mouse) would see it. OK, in all fairness, it wasn't the bread's fault but it's maker for churning it into such a dry and unpalatable carb. As it's a rather thick slice of bread that unfortunately happens to be dry on the inside, it relied solely on the layer of peanut butter and strawberry jam on top to make it less so.

Unfortunately, the peanut butter was rather thick and didn't help the situation much. Jam was slightly more helpful but there wasn't enough of it to go around. If you are going to put out a piece of toast that you could throw across the room and it has a chance of still retaining its shape, maybe you should throw the idea into the bin instead.
