While their most famous branch remains ever busy, the Kanna in Puchong has a more laid back feel to it. There's a side open air dining area that's shaded by big trees with the occasional breeze to cool that curry heat down. I prefer to sit indoor because the thought of being under the sun is unbearable. Yes, I'm born in the wrong country.Bandar Puchong Jaya,

Despite the name banana leaf, they serve on makeshift banana leaf. It's basically a piece of paper shaped like a banana leaf, complete with the pattern. There's a slightly waxy/smooth touch to it so that your precious curry isn't soaked up by the 'plate'. Rest assured, you can on their rationale for using this instead of the original thing. Apparently there's shortage of banana trees. Perhaps I should make a deal with them as there's quite a lot of them at my backyard 😂
Over the years, Kanna has grown very popular to the point that either the fame got into their head or they got haters. People started saying how the prices have gone up, the portion's gotten smaller, the quality isn't as good anymore. While that's true of the PJ branch, this is my first visit to the Puchong branch so I could only comment on the price. It is indeed slightly pricier than normal. The veggies are standard dishes. You get the taste of the spices in them. Curry was spicy. Rice was hot.
We ordered a plate of curry mutton and 2 fried chicken. The mutton was really spicy but it's making me salivate just thinking about them now. Fried chicken was on the skinny side but still kinda juicy on the inside.
Would I return here? Yes. Only for the mutton and nothing else. You have better option for rice and side dishes at Puchong Mess.
